'Blink'

Blink” is a sensory installation by Nata Yanchur that explores the fragile threshold between perception and recognition. Through paintings activated by sound-responsive, color-shifting lighting, viewers are drawn into a state of perceptual flux—where static forms become fluid, collapsing and shifting.

The works function as visual koans, reflecting Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s concept of embodied perception, in which meaning emerges not through cognition alone, but through the body’s intimate engagement with the world. Blending post-digital aesthetics with traditional media, “Blink” creates a contemplative space where image, memory, and environment dissolve into a single flickering field of experience.

During the show, Sammi Gale (curator, editor at Plinth.uk.com, poet) — performed original poems composed specifically for this project. His live reading activated the space: sound-sensitive lamps responded dynamically to his voice, shifting the lighting in real time and transforming not only the lights and the artworks themselves but, consequently, the very perception of their form.
